 On February 4, 2019, United Med Care Ambulance began with a clear mission—to serve the community of Laredo, Texas with dependable ambulance service and high-quality patient care. Founded by Laredo natives Jorge Vargas and Jose Cavazos, the company started with two BLS ambulances and a strong commitment to serving the community they proudly call home.

Since then, United Med Care Ambulance has grown into a trusted EMS provider. As of 2026, UMC operates a fleet of 18 units and employs more than 60 dedicated EMS professionals who are committed to helping patients when they need it most.

Our company was built on a simple promise: provide safe transportation, dependable response, and skilled medical care that families can trust. Every patient we serve is treated with professionalism, respect, and professionalism.

Because of that commitment, United Med Care Ambulance has become one of the fastest-growing private ambulance providers in Laredo and surrounding communities, including Zapata and Hebbronville, Texas.

We are proud of how far we have come, but our focus remains the same—serving our community with reliable EMS service and continuing to raise the standard of patient care in South Texas.

Investing in Excellence:

Recognizing the growing need for more advanced medical care, United Med Care Ambulance expanded its services in December 2023 by introducing Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances.

With this addition, our ambulances are now staffed with trained paramedics and equipped with advanced life support equipment to care for patients who require a higher level of medical attention during transport.

Our ALS services are available for both local and out-of-town transports, allowing us to safely transport patients between hospitals, nursing homes, and medical facilities both within Laredo and to other cities when specialized care is needed.

This expansion reflects our continued commitment to improving patient care and providing dependable medical transportation for the communities we serve.
